Update : 23 Dec 2024, 08:20 PM

In the upcoming new year, aside from the regular weekly holidays on Fridays and Saturdays, there will be 76 days of holiday for both government and private secondary and lower secondary schools.

The Ministry of Education released the holiday list for 2025 on Monday for secondary and lower secondary schools.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Government Secondary Division, Mosammat Rahima Akter, the holiday list has been prepared with the approval of the highest level of authority.

The list also includes the dates for half-yearly and pre-selection exams for the 10th grade, as well as the election and annual exams for the same grade, along with the announcement of the results.

The half-yearly and pre-selection exams for the 10th grade will take place from June 24 to July 10, with the results announced on July 27.

The 10th-grade election exam will be held from October 16 to November 3, with the results being declared on November 10.

The annual exams for other grades will begin on November 20 and continue until December 7, with the results announced on December 30.

The holiday list states that the scheduled exam dates cannot be changed.

If an exam date needs to be changed for any special reason, permission must be obtained from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education.

Schools will not be allowed to give holidays for any government official's visit, nor can classes be suspended for the purpose of a reception or visit.

Students should not be lined up on the streets in honor of a guest or visitor.

The February 21 (Martyrs' Day), March 26 (Independence Day), April 14 (Bengali New Year) and December 16 (Victory Day) should be celebrated at schools with due respect.

As in previous years, there will be no holiday for the August 15 (National Mourning Day) in the schools next year.
