Dr Shuchita Sharmin, a professor of Development Studies Department at Dhaka University, has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Barisal University for the next four years.
A letter regarding her appointment was issued on Monday.
Her tenure as VC will be four years from the date of joining and she will get pay and allowances equivalent to her present post, the letter mentioned.
She will enjoy other benefits pertaining to the post as per the rules.
Public Relations Officer (PRO)of the university Faisal Hasan confirmed the matter.
Dr Shuchita Sharmin will serve as the fifth Vice-Chancellor of Barisal University.
