Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Dr Sadeka Halim, the registrar, the entire proctorial body and the provost of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall have resigned from their positions.
Dr Md Aynul Islam, the university's acting registrar, confirmed the news on Sunday after resigning.
The VC, Proctor Mohammad Jahangir Hussain and the entire proctorial body had submitted their resignation letters to him, Aynul said. “I also resigned as the registrar."
Later, Prof Dipika Rani Sarker, the provost of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, also confirmed her resignation.
Earlier in the day, JnU students issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the resignation of the VC, registrar, the proctorial body and the provost of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, warning of severe actions if their demands were not met.
