The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked National University to stop all activities including the admission of students in the undergraduate (honours) programs at its main campus in the academic year 2023-24 until the president issues a directive.
The instruction was issued in a letter sent to NU on Sunday.
The letter says the UGC wrote to the president on the decision to accept students to NU's main campus on January 25.
A request was made to halt all admissions as described in the NU 2023-24 admissions circular until further orders from the president, who is the chancellor, are issued.
Last year, National University published a notification for the admission of on-campus students at the honours level for the academic year 2022-23.
It invited applications for admission of students in LLB, BBA, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Nutrition and Food Science.
Later, the UGC issued several letters directing NU to stop the admission of students at the main campus of the university.
