Considering the roads and educational institutions submerged due to flooding, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said that the institutions will be closed for two days in four districts of Chittagong.
The minister gave this information at the end of a meeting at the International Mother Language Institute on Tuesday afternoon.
She announced that all secondary educational institutions of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban and Khagrachari districts will remain closed for two days on August 9-10.
This decision has been taken as most of the roads and educational institutions of these districts have been submerged due to rainwater and landslides. Apart from this, all the secondary institutions of Chittagong city were closed on Tuesday as previously announced.
At the same time, the education minister said that all the coaching centres will be closed from August 14-September 25 in order to conduct the HSC and equivalent examinations in an environment free from rumours of question paper leak and cheating.
Meanwhile, students of various educational institutions of the capital staged protests and blocked roads demanding the postponement of this year's HSC and equivalent exam dates.
