The results of the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations may be published between October 25 and 29, according to a proposal submitted by the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the proposal to Dhaka Tribune.
A senior Dhaka Education Board official told the media on Thursday that results are usually published on Thursdays. As October 29 falls on a Thursday, the results may be announced that day.
The Dhaka Education Board also said chairmen of various education boards have proposed holding the next examinations within three months of the results being published.
The HSC and equivalent examinations began simultaneously across the country on July 2 under nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.
The examinations were scheduled to end on August 8, but some boards, including Chittagong, required additional time due to flooding. Practical examinations were completed by August 15.
A total of 1,270,583 candidates registered for the examinations under 11 boards, covering HSC, Alim, HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce programs.
The examinations were held at 2,697 centres across 9,439 educational institutions. This year, the nine general education boards used a common question paper.
