Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said that the central system admission process has reduced chances of harassment and expenses in admission tests.

She told this to the journalists after the inauguration of the science fair of National University at local Daulatpur College in Kushtia on Wednesday afternoon.

However, she said that any new system comes with its own challenges and so does the new admission process.

The government is considering the introduction of a central admission test for both public and private universities from next year in order to ease the enrolment process for new students as well as the financial burden on their parents.

Regarding ragging in educational institutions, Dr Dipu Moni said that ragging is absolutely prohibited. It is a problem like any other social problem.

She added that it will not be done only by law or by teachers. A mindset and a culture against ragging should be developed.
