The government has announced that no admission test will be held for Class-I from the 2027 academic year, with students to be selected through a lottery system.
The Ministry of Education announced the decision in a press release issued on Thursday.
According to the notice, admissions to Class-I in all schools will continue through the current lottery system.
The ministry said that admissions to all other primary and secondary school classes will be based on admission tests from 2027.
The ministry also said the results of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on August 10.
For the 2026 academic year, admissions to classes I–IX at all government and non-government secondary schools nationwide were conducted through a digital lottery system.
