Shahjalal University of Science and Technology celebrated its 32nd founding anniversary through various programs on Tuesday.
SUST Vice-Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed and Treasurer Dr Anwarul Islam inaugurated the program hoisting the national flag and the university flag in front of the administration building at 10:10am.
Dhaka TribuneLater, the vice chancellor paid tribute by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Square on the campus.
At 10:25am, a colourful procession was taken out in front of the administration building to the campus. University students, teachers, officers and employees participated in the procession.
At the end of the procession, Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed wished everyone a Happy University Day and Pohela Falgun.
Dhaka TribuneHe expressed his gratitude to the people of Sylhet and said that this university was established as a result of their long struggle and sacrifice. He said that the people of this region have been agitating for the establishment of a university since the British period.
The vice chancellor said: “The university is playing a positive role at the national level. In the future, we want to be the best at the international level as well. For this, the cooperation of all members of the university is required.”
