Mokhlesur said: “We had submitted a memorandum to the prime minister during a human chain on November 10 last year and gave December 31 as an ultimatum to meet our demands. “Since we did not receive any response until December 30, we began our sit-in programme from January 1.”
Bangladesh Swatantra Ebtedayee Madrasa Shikkhok Samiti started their protest on January 1 in front of the National Press Club Focus BanglaTalking to the Bangla Tribune, some of the teachers participating in the sit-in programme said activities of primary schools and ebtedayee madrasas are similar but the teachers do not enjoy the same facilities and allowances.
