Three injured in Lakshmipur filling station blast admitted to DMCH

Three people injured after a fatal bus cylinder gas blast at a filling station in Lakshmipur on Monday have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

They are Hridan Hossain, 21, a 10th-grade student of Lakshmipur Collegiate High School, Fahad Hossain, 18, a CNG autorickshaw driver, and Md Rahim, 40, a day labourer.

Hridan's brother, Rifat Hossain, said Hridan had gone in front of the filling station just before the incident.

He added that their family is involved in the transportation business, which often requires visits to that filling station.

On the other hand, Fahad mentioned that he had gone there to refuel his autorickshaw, and the explosion resulted in his leg injury.

Meanwhile, Rahim was brought to DMCH later in the day.

He suffered injuries to his eyes and head.

His uncle, Abul Kalam, said Rahim had accompanied someone to the filling station where he was injured.

Three people were killed and some 20 others were injured in the blast.

The deceased were Suman Hossain, Md Yusuf Mia and his brother Hridoy Hossain, hailing from the upazila's  Charmonsha and Banchanagar areas, respectively.

Witnesses said that the explosion occurred at around 2am at Green Life Filling Station in the Muktiganj area when a Ramgati-bound bus of Meghna Classic was refuelling.
