North South University (NSU) and the US Embassy in Dhaka jointly organized the very first chorus performance by the Harvard Krokodiloes in Bangladesh on Thursday.
A delegation from the US is visiting Bangladesh to display their performance as a part of The Harvard Krokodiloes 2022 World Summer Tour, said a press release.
Helen LaFave, deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Dhaka, was present as the special guest while Prof Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor of North South University, chaired the program.
Speakers at the program said it is a matter of great pride for NSU and the country to host such a prestigious event at the NSU campus.
The already existing long and productive diplomatic relationship between Bangladesh and the US is only set to improve and the friendship between the two nations will be strengthened through this event, reads the press release.
Prof M Ismail Hossain, pro-vice-chancellor of NSU, Prof ABM Rashedul Hassan, treasurer, deans of different schools, directors of various departments, department heads, senior officials, teachers, and students were also present at the programme.
The Harvard Krokodiloes, are the oldest cappella singing group of Harvard University, founded in 1946.
The concept of this group is originated from The Kroks, which is rooted in the Hasty Pudding Club, founded in 1770 and recognized as the oldest collegiate social organization in the US, according to their website.
