A fire broke out at a readymade garments factory at the Gulshan 1 Shopping Centre in Dhaka, early Friday.
Mahmudul Haque, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, told Dhaka Tribune that the fire broke out around 3:20am at the warehouse of Shamsher Apparels, housed on the fifth floor of the six storey shopping centre.
Seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze around 6am, he said.
No casualties were reported.
The reason for the fire could not be determined immediately, Mahmudul said.
The extent of loss caused by the fire is estimated to be around Tk15 lakh, he added.
