A fire broke out at Madani Super Market in Hemayetpur, Savar, on Wednesday evening.
The blaze erupted at the market near Hemayetpur bus stand in Tetuljhora Union around 6:00pm, prompting four Fire Service and Civil Defence units to rush to the scene.
Two units from Tannery Fire Station and two from Savar Fire Station are working to bring the fire under control.
No casualties were reported immediately.
Firefighter Md Tushar Ali of Tannery Fire Service confirmed the incident, saying the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
He said the cause of the fire and extent of damage would be determined after the blaze is brought under control.
