Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury's health condition has stabilized after a brief period of breathing issues.
He is feeling better now, Gonoshasthaya Kendra's Public Relation Officer Farhad told Dhaka Tribune on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday night, Zafrullah suffered from breathing difficulties and was given oxygen, Farhad said.
A post by Gonoshasthaya's verified Facebook page, posted at 10:40am on Friday, said Dr Zafrullah's condition had deteriorated on Thursday night.
The GK trustee has been undergoing treatment at his Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital under the care of Brig Gen Dr Mamun Mustafi and Dr Nojib.
The post also urged everyone to pray for him.
On May 25, Dr Zafrullah was diagnosed with Covid-19 with GK’s rapid testing kit.
Four days later, an rt-PCR test at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) also found him positive for Covid-19.
On May 31, his wife Shirin Parveen Huq and son Bareesh Hasan Chowdhury also tested positive for Covid-19.
