Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has said police are yet to identify the culprits of the crude bomb blasts in Paltan and Dhaka University Modhur canteen areas.
He made the statement to reporters at the DMP media centre on Monday when asked about threats of future bomb blasts.
He said police have limited access in the university area. However, their intelligence team are investigating the incident.
"Hopefully, the culprits will be identified in a very short time," he added.
The commissioner added that the street in front of BNP's office in Paltan is a very busy road, so it is very tough to identify who threw the crude bombs.
The deputy commissioners of police in connection to these incidents have been instructed to cover the areas under CCTV, he added.
The commissioner also said there are no more threats of bomb blasts ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations.
