Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested three people for the abduction of a madrasa teacher in Tangail.
RAB 12 arrested Rubel Mia, 33, Shaon Mridha, 24 and Abdul Al Mamun, 20, on Thursday.
According to Tangail Company Commander Abdullah Al Mamun, the accused picked up the madrasa teacher from in front of Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital around 9pm on Tuesday.
The teacher’s older brother filed a complaint with the Tangail RAB office after which they started an investigation.
The abductors kept changing locations and demanded Tk5 lakh from his family, said Mamun.
On Wednesday, the criminals left the victim tied up at Rabna Bypass as they realised the presence of RAB members nearby.
The elite police unit led a manhunt on Thursday and arrested three members of the kidnapping group.
