A Dhaka court has ordered the submission of certified copies of income tax documents of the wife and son of retired Lieutenant General Md Nazim Uddin as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of acquiring assets beyond known sources of income.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz issued the order on Tuesday, directing tax commissioners of Dhaka’s Zones 9 and 10 to provide the documents following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Court bench assistant Md Riaz Hossain confirmed the matter.
ACC Assistant Director Akhtaruzzaman filed the application seeking certified copies of the income tax records.
According to the application, investigators require the income tax returns and related documents of Nazim Uddin’s wife, Aziza Taher, and son, Mohammad Zayem bin Nazim, covering the fiscal years from 2013–14 to 2025–26, to ensure a fair investigation.
The ACC said reviewing these records is necessary to examine allegations of wealth accumulation inconsistent with known income.
Earlier, on March 2, the same court ordered the seizure of income tax documents of Nazim Uddin, his wife and son as part of the investigation.
