A Dhaka court has set January 27, 2025, as the new deadline for submitting the investigation report on the 2012 murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharifur Rahman set the new date after the investigation agency, RAB, failed to submit the report on Monday.
This marks the 114th extension of the deadline in this high-profile case.
Sagar Sarowar, the news editor of Maasranga Television, and Meherun Runi, a senior reporter at ATN Bangla, were tragically killed on February 11, 2012, in their rented flat in West Razabazar, Dhaka.
Following the murders, Runi’s brother, Nowsher Alam Roman, filed a case at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station.
