A new personal income tax category called "July warriors" has been introduced by the government, offering tax relief on incomes up to Tk5,25,000 for two years beginning in the 2026–27 fiscal year.
Starting from FY27, the tax-free income limit for war-wounded freedom fighters has been raised to Tk5,25,000, up from the current Tk5,00,000.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, amounting to Tk7,89,999 crore, in a televised speech on Monday.
