Former ministers Dipu Moni and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, former member of parliament Selim Mahmud, and Dipu Moni's brother JR Wadud Tipu have been accused in a new case.
The case was filed on Wednesday afternoon by a person named Mukhtar Hossain Patwari.
In this case, more than 300 named individuals and an additional 200 to 250 unidentified are accused, Chandpur model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak Mir confirmed.
According to the FIR, during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Chandpur city’s bus stand area on August 4, supporters of Dipu Moni, affiliated with the Awami League, carried out an attack on the students, beating them and creating panic by detonating explosive materials.
Many students and ordinary people were injured in the attack. The plaintiff’s son was also injured.
Previously, two more cases were filed against Dipu Moni and her brother JR Wadud, as well as other Awami League leaders.
With this new case, a total of three cases have been filed against her at Chandpur model police station.
OC Abdur Razzak Mir said: "So far, only Dipu Moni has been shown arrested in these three cases. The other accused are still at large. The police are continuing their efforts to arrest them."
