Railway police held three men red-handed while they were trying to detonate hand grenades on the Dhaka-Narayanganj rail line.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the central railway station in Narayanganj city.
The arrestees are Joynal Abedin, Arif, and Habibur Rahman. Their political affiliation was not identified immediately.
Narayanganj Railway Police Deputy Sub-Inspector Mokhlesur Rahman said: “Due to violence across the country, the railway police has strengthened security in Narayanganj. As part of this, three saboteurs were arrested today.
“They were trying to detonate hand grenades targeting the railway line at the central railway station. We arrested them at that time. It is being investigated whether the detainees have any political affiliation. Legal action will be taken against them,” he added.
