Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique on Thursday offered prayers at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Gopalganj’s Tungipara.
Well-known as Bangabir, the former Awami League leader, flanked by around 200 leaders and activists of his party, placed a floral wreath and offered special prayers for nearly 20 minutes.
Other than seeking blessings for Bangabandhu and most of his family members killed in 1975, Kader Siddique also prayed for the country and its people. He was reduced to tears at that time.
Before that they placed the floral wreath and stood in solemn silence in remembrance of Bangabandhu marking his 38th gruesome death anniversary on August 15.
Bangabir’s wife Nasrin Siddique, and his two brothers—Abdul Latif Siddique and Shamim Monsur Azad Siddique—accompanied him.
Later on, he signed the visitor book at the Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex.
Kader Siddique is among very few people to immediately and strongly protest the killing of Bangabandhu.
