The newly constructed building of Dhaka University’s Jatir Janak Bangabandhu Hall has been named the July Shaheed Smrity Bhaban as per a decision made by the university administration.
This announcement was made through an urgent notice issued on Wednesday by the Deputy Registrar (Administration-5) of the university.
According to the notice, 26 (119), the proposal to name the new 11-storey building, which accommodates 1,000 students, was discussed based on suggestions from students and correspondence from the hall provost.
Students were invited to propose names for the building and submitted suggestions like July Smrity Bhaban, July Biplob Bhaban, July 24 Bhaban and Bijoy 24 Bhaban.
After consideration, the building was officially named the July Shaheed Smrity Bhaban.
