Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to Khulna after five years on Friday on a personal visit.

She will visit two jute warehouses in the name of her mother Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.

General Secretary of Khulna Metropolitan Awami League MDA Babul Rana said that she will reach Dighlia Ghat via Gopalganj by road, crossing Khanjahan Ali Setu (Rupsa Setu) and Aranghata Bypass on Friday around 3pm. Crossing the ghat, she will visit the jute warehouse bought in the name of her mother in the Nagarghat area of Dighlia.

He said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had bought a land in Nagarghat area of Dighlia. There is a jute warehouse on the land. The prime minister is coming to Khulna to see it and stay at Gopalganj at night. From there, she will visit Bangabandhu's shrine the next day with party leaders and activists and return to Dhaka.

Sources said that during the Pakistan period, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman bought a land with a jute warehouse and a one-room house on 1.44 acres (4 bigha) land in Nagarghat area near the mouth of Bhairab river in Dighlia in the name of his wife Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib.

Bangabandhu's younger brother Sheikh Abu Naser looked after that land. After the death of her parents, Sheikh Hasina did not know about the land even though the prime minister was the owner.

In 2007, she found the land through her personal lawyer. Bangabandhu's old jute warehouse was demolished and a modern warehouse was built there. A rest house has been built on the banks of the river. The paved road adjacent to the warehouse is named after Sheikh Russell.

Earlier on March 3, 2018, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to a public meeting in Khulna.
