Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday proposed to allocate Tk5,000 crore for an emergency fund to battle the Covid-19 outbreak.
“In the past two budget allocations, Tk10,000 crore was allocated to combat Covid-19,” he stated in his budget speech in Parliament.
The minister added that, although coronavirus infection has decreased dramatically, the worry of its comeback remains, since the Covid-19 epidemic continues in several countries.
