Covid: Bangladesh logs 216 cases, zero deaths in 24 hours

Daily infection rate rises slightly to 5.87% from previous day’s 5.82%

Bangladesh reported 216 more Covid-19 cases in 24 hours to Friday morning.

The total number of fatalities remained unchanged at 29,411 as no deaths were reported during the period. With the new infections, the caseload rose to 2,033,878, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The daily infection rate rose to 5.87% from Thursday’s 5.82% as 3,680 samples were tested during the period.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.45% and the recovery rate rose to 97.2%.

In September, the country reported 40 Covid-19 deaths and 13,251 cases.

Bangladesh registered its highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year and its highest number of fatalities of 264 on August 10 of the same year.
