No case has been registered yet with the police despite two days of the tragic fire at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda of Chittagong,
District Superintendent of Police SM Rashidul Haque confirmed the matter on Monday.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad of Sitakunda police station told the media that no case has been registered yet. “However, there will be a case.”

The blast occurred after a fire broke out at the depot in Keshabpur area of Sonaichhari union in the upazila on Saturday night.
Officially, a total of 41 people were killed in the incident, including 12 firefighters, with nearly 450 injured.
Immediately after the fire started, the fire service personnel started working to extinguish it. At one point, the fire spread and the container containing the chemical exploded.
Meanwhile, after inspecting the BM container depot on Monday afternoon, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan visited the fire victims at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
He warned of stern action if proof of negligence is found against anyone in the fire incident.
“No matter how powerful they are, strict action will be taken against them,” he said after visiting the victims of the deadly explosion at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Monday.
“The whole incident is being investigated. If the depot owners are found to have been negligent, action will be taken after the committees tasked with probing the incident file their report,” he added.
