Domestic flights to resume on a limited scale

Flights on domestic routes have been suspended since April 5 due to a countrywide lockdown imposed by the government

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) decided to resume flights on seven domestic routes on a limited scale from Wednesday.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman said, details about the permits of domestic flights will be given later through a circular.

On April 5, CAAB suspended all domestic flights following the government instructions to curb the infection of Covid-19.

The local airways on April 7 sought permission to operate flights on domestic routes while strictly following health guidelines.

Domestic flight operators have claimed that they ensure health safety facilities in and out of the air crafts during travel. All airlines are always under monitoring by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), aiming to control the transmission of the virus.
