UAE floods: What is the status of Saturday’s flights leaving Dhaka?

As unprecedented floods grip the UAE since Tuesday, flights from Dhaka Airport to the United Arab Emirates remain limited.

Airport sources indicate that Emirates is running five flights from Dhaka on Saturday, including two delayed flights.

Three flights have departed on schedule, while the remaining two, including one delayed flight, are scheduled for departure at 7:30am and 9:30pm.

Emirates clarified that they are only accommodating direct Dubai-bound passengers and not transit passengers. They said that an official announcement regarding their flight updates will be made soon.

Meanwhile, Fly Dubai is operating three flights, including one delayed departure. Two flights have already departed, with the remaining scheduled for departure at 7:30pm.

Additionally, Air Arabia is operating a total of 10 flights from Bangladesh, split evenly between Dhaka airport and Chittagong.

At Dhaka airport, five scheduled flights are underway, with two flights already departed to Sharjah on time. The remaining three flights are set to depart between 8:30pm and 10:40pm, including one to Dubai at 9pm.

An Air Arabia official from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong informed Dhaka Tribune that the airline operates three weekly flights from Chittagong to Sharjah on Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday.

One flight has already departed from Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong, as per schedule.

The remaining two flights are scheduled to depart on Saturday at 4:50pm and 8:50pm for the same destination.

Additionally, the official mentioned that Air Arabia operates two more scheduled flights from Chittagong to Dubai and Sharjah on Monday and Tuesday.
