The Misha-Dipjol panel has emerged victorious in the election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti held on Friday.
Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khosru announced the results of the artist association's election at 7am, on Saturday.
Misha Saudagar and Manowar Hossain Dipjol, candidates from this panel, were elected as president and general secretary.
Apart from three, all the candidates won from this panel.
Masum Pervez Rubel and DA Taib of Misha-Dipzol panel won the post of vice president, Arman as deputy general secretary, Joy Chowdhury as organizing secretary, Alexander Bo as international affairs secretary, Jackie Alamgir as office and publicity secretary and Kamal has been elected as the treasurer.
Besides, as the culture and sports secretary Mamun Imran Bijoyee has been elected from the Koli-Nipun panel.
With 265 votes, popular actor and former president Misha Saudagar has been elected as the new president for the last two terms, defeating Mahmud Koli, who received 170 votes.
Actor Monwar Hossen Dipjol has been elected as the general secretary with 225 votes, defeating Nipun Akhtar who received 209.
Nine members have been elected from the Misha-Dipjol panel for executive committee positions.
They are Sucharita (228), Rojina (243), Aliraj (239), Subrata, Dilara Yasmin (218), Shahnur (245), Nana Shah (210), Ratna Kabir (263), and Chhunu (248). Additionally, from the Koli-Nipun panel, Riana Parvin Polly (220) and Soni Rahman (230) have been elected as executive committee members.
Reacting immediately after the victory, Dipjol said:"We are all one. We will work together."
Earlier, the polling began at 9:30am at the office of Shilpi Samiti of FDC amid tight security.
According to the election commission, 475 votes were cast out of 570 votes.
