On the second day of his four-day official visit to Pabna, President Md Sahabuddin paid respects at the graves of his parents on Sunday.

Senior officials of the local administration welcomed the president upon his arrival. He spent some time at the graves offering prayers at the central graveyard in Arifpur area of Pabna Sadar Upazila around 11:45am, accompanied by family members, close relatives, local representatives, and administrative officials.

Ahead of the visit, special preparations were made at the Arifpur central graveyard. Security measures were tightened across the area, and the site was cleaned and beautified. District administration, police, and other law enforcement personnel remained on high alert to ensure safety.

Following the graveside visit, president Sahabuddin briefly interacted with local elders and attendees. Many residents expressed interest in seeing the president in person.

Masidur Mozhar, a senior local school teacher, said, “It was heartening to see my brother, the honorable president Md Sahabuddin, after a long time. It feels good when someone close becomes a national figure. I hope he will address Pabna’s urgent issues with care.”

Afterwards, the president returned to the Pabna Circuit House. He is scheduled to meet journalists at the Pabna Press Club at 7 pm. No official announcements have been made regarding visits to other government or important institutions.

On March 30, the president is expected to visit Bhavanipur Mosque at 11 am and spend time with relatives at his city residence in the evening before returning to the Circuit House at 9 pm.

President Sahabuddin arrived in Pabna on Saturday to begin the four-day official tour. Upon arrival, he received a guard of honor at the Circuit House and held courtesy meetings with local political leaders and dignitaries. Security measures across the district have been intensified throughout the visit.

Meanwhile, local journalists faced challenges in covering the visit, as applications for media access have yet to be approved by the Special Security Force (SSF), limiting the collection of information and photographs.
