The four-team Bangabandhu Federation Cup Handball begins Saturday at Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party, Bandarban District Sports Association and Team Handball Dhaka will take part in the tournament with national handball champion Border Guard Bangladesh a notable absentee.
Bangladesh Handball Federation general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor said, “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we sent invitations to some selected teams, we also told BGB but they said they won’t participate, number of teams are not many owing to the novel coronavirus situation.
“We will organize the tournament maintaining the health safety protocols set by the government.”
