Border Guard Bangladesh emerged as the champion in the Exim Bank 28th National Men’s Handball Competition after beating Bangladesh Police 25-17 in the final at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
Mehedi Hasan scored seven goals for the winning side while Sagar and Emdad bagged four each. BGB’s Tarekul Rahman was named player of the final while Mohammad Rabiul of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party was adjudged man of the tournament.
Earlier Saturday in the third-place decider at the same venue, Ansar defeated Bandarban 40-27. Rabiul scored 13 while Emon and Harmoni Tripura netted seven each.
The tournament was organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation.
