Islami Bank East Zone batsman Yasir Ali Chowdhury got his fifth first-class ton and propelled his side to a massive total against Prime Bank South Zone, despite veteran spinner Abdur Razzak’s five-wicket haul at the end of day two in the second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League Thursday.
Middle-order batsman Yasir scored 112 runs which helped East Zone to 473 against South Zone at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
At stumps on day two, South Zone trail by 384 with six wickets remaining in the first innings.
The day resumed with East Zone batting on 314 for four wickets and a fine Yasir knock took them to a big score.
The right-handed batsman struck his fifth first-class hundred.
Left-arm spinner Razzak notched five wickets to register his 35th five-wicket haul in the format but that was not enough to restrict the opponent.
Later, South Zone lost four wickets with just 89 on the board as off-spinner Mahmudul Islam took two wickets.
