At the height of her popularity, Loretta Lynn was subject to much controversy. Songs by Lynn that have been banned include “Rated 'X',” a song about the double standards divorced women face, “Wings Upon Your Horns”, which spoke about the loss of teenage virginity, and “The Pill”, lyrics by T D Bayless, which is about a wife and mother becoming liberated via the birth-control pill. It has also been included in live performances during the Iraq war. In 1971, Lynn was the first solo female country artist to play at the White House for Richard Nixon. She has since then, returned to perform for Carter, Reagan, George H W Bush and George W Bush administrations. Lynn has also gone on record back in 2016 to state that she is supporting Donald Trump in his run for presidency. "Trump has sold me — what more can I say?" Lynn told a Reuters reporter before a Trump rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina. "I just think he's the only one who's going to turn this country around."

As a bodybuilder, Ferrigno won one IFBB Mr America title and two consecutive IFBB Mr Universe titles, and appeared in the bodybuilding documentary, Pumping Iron. As an actor, he is best known for his title role in the CBS television series, The Incredible Hulk and vocally reprising the role in subsequent animated and computer-generated incarnations. He has also appeared in European-produced fantasy-adventures such as Sinbad of the Seven Seas and Hercules, and as himself in the sitcom The King of Queens and the 2009 comedy I Love You, Man. Ferrigno too, has admitted to support Trump in the presidential race. "I wish Donald the best. He's a fabulous guy. I hope he goes all the way," Ferrigno told TMZ in July.
