Its teaser, released on November 3

Update : 05 Nov 2026, 03:42 PM

Chorki's historical drama series “Feu” is set to return on November 12 with a nine-episode release titled “Feu Complete Saga”, bringing its previously unfinished storyline to a conclusion.

Inspired by the Marichjhapi massacre, the series explores themes of courage, resistance and political identity through the lives of people in southern Bangladesh.

Set against the wilderness of the Sundarbans, the story follows Marshall, a mysterious figure representing ordinary people, and young Daniel, who becomes caught in a violent confrontation involving foreign agents.

Written by Sukorno Shahed Dhiman and Romel Rahman, with a screenplay by Dhiman and Siddiq Ahamed, the fictional narrative draws on historical events and explores the region's political and social struggles.

The nine-episode series will premiere on Chorki at midnight on November 12. Its teaser, released on November 3, features the line: “I told you before, the jungle has its own rules. Break them, and you will have to face the consequences.”

“Feu Complete Saga” is not a conventional second season. Instead, it combines material from the original season with the remaining story to present the complete narrative in one release.

Director Dhiman said the first season established the history, characters, and political background of the story, while the new version brings those elements together. He added that viewers who have not watched the earlier episodes would also be able to follow the narrative without missing essential details.

The concluding installment will reveal the outcome of Daniel's search for his father and the fate of Marshall's struggle for political identity and rights.

Dhiman said the series is entirely rooted in Bangladesh and highlights the culture and history of the country's southern region. Filming took place between 2023 and 2024 over nearly a year, across Chalna, Batiaghata, Bajua, Mongla, Khulna and Satkhira.

Among the central characters are Sunil and Marshall, played by Chanchal Chowdhury and Mostafizur Noor Imran, respectively. Imran described Marshall as a fighter whose character is developed through his appearance, clothing, body language and behaviour. He expressed hope that audiences would experience the complete story through the new release.

The cast also includes Tariq Anam Khan, Tanvir Apurbo, Hossain Zibon, Tahmina Authoi, Rizvi Rizu, Father Joya, Bablu Bose, A K Azad Shetu, Anwar Hosshen, Rontik Dipu, Amirul Islam and Abid Mollik. More than 100 performers from Khulna, Bagerhat and Batiaghata also feature in the series.

The title “Feu” refers to a jackal whose calls alert other animals to the presence of a tiger. It can also describe someone who persistently follows or harasses another person. According to Dhiman, the title carries political significance, reflecting how fear and anxiety can become part of everyday life.

The series draws inspiration from the Marichjhapi incident in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. Following Partition and the 1971 Liberation War, many people fled to India as refugees. A section of Hindu refugees from the Namasudra community eventually settled on Marichjhapi, reportedly encouraged by government assurances.

However, following a change in the political climate after elections, authorities launched an eviction drive against the settlers. On May 16, 1979, the island was cleared of its refugees. While official figures recorded two deaths, various estimates suggest that more than 1,000 people may have died.
