Keeping the spirit of determination and hope born out of the historic July Uprising, tribute will be paid to the voice of the people, the brilliance of youth, the diversity of our cultural heritage and the new horizon on which we stand today.
All the songs, slogans or other activities that fueled the July movement affected the movement. As a result, many artists faced various legal risks. Against all odds, many had united the masses through music.
At that time, rapper Hannan was arrested for his outspokenness and his song "Awaaz Utha" became the anthem of hope for many. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy wants to spread and celebrate the victory of mass uprising under the motto "Awaaz Utha".
Bangladesh Shilpakala academy is hosting a cultural event where rapper Hannan, F Minor and other artists will perform.
The event will take place on November 8 (Friday) at 6 pm at Nandan stage of the Academy.
The event will be inaugurated by Mohammad Ashraful (participant in the anti-discrimination movement and physically affected) and Mehjabeen Rahman, director of the music, dance and recitation department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
