A young man named Alamin died after being shot during the ongoing violence surrounding the quota reform movement. He was the personal assistant of actress Tanjin Tisha. The actress herself confirmed his death with an emotional Facebook post.
On Tuesday, July 23, Tisha wrote about Alamin on her Facebook wall: "I don't know how to start. You may all know him as my assistant. But he is not just an assistant, he is like my younger brother. For the last four years, he has been with me, in my family. What I would do, what I would eat, when I would sleep, when I was in a bad mood, and when I was in a good mood- he always looked after me.
Tisha also wrote: “Alamin used to sit by my side like a shadow all day. I had many plans for him. I would teach him driving, I would force him to continue his studies, to take the tests. It wasn’t easy for him, but he fought against all odds. His Eid days were spent with me first, then with his family… How did this kid take two shots in a row?”
Lastly Tisha wrote: “Alamin was not involved with any party or anything. The last four years of her life have been spent with me, my work and my family. There is no sin in his life, I have seen this child grow up in these four years.”
She ended her message asking for prayers from everyone for Alamin’s departed soul.
