Two new government funded movies released

Two films, ‘Briddhashram’ and ‘Dushshahoshi Khoka’, both made with government grants, were released September 29.

Two films, “Briddhashram” and “Dushshahoshi Khoka”, both made with government grants, were released September 29. 

“Briddhashram” was directed by musician SD Rubel and “Dushshahoshi Khoka” directed by Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar. 

Rubel’s directorial debut focuses on the relationship between children and parents as they grow older. The director said, “When the child gets older, they send their mothers and fathers to old age homes. The movie focuses on the last moments of parents as they go on without their kids.”

The film is showing in 18 theatres across the country including Star Cineplex, Blockbuster Cinemas, Azad Cinema Hall and Ananda. “Briddhashram” cast includes  SD Rubel, Bobby, Syed Hasan Imam, Prabir Mitra, Afzal Sharif, Shampa Reza, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Jahanara Ahmed, among others. 

“Dushshahoshi Khoka” the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the period of his birth to youth (1920-1938). Shommo Joyti is seen in the role of young Mujib alongside Fazlur Rahman Babu, Golam Farida Chanda, Elina Shammi, among others.

The film is showing at Star Cineplex, Blockbuster Cinemas, Lion Cinemas, Chittagong's Silver Screen, Sylhet's Nandita, Pabna's Rupkotha, Shatkhira's Sangeeta and Sherpur's Rupkatha Hall.
