The “Tareque Masud Memorial Lecture 2023” has been organised at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Jatiya Chitrashala Auditorium on the occasion of filmmaker Tareque Masud 12th death anniversary.
The theme of the memorial is “Identity Politics and Bangladeshi Cinema”. The documentary “Adam Surat” directed by Tareque Masud is being screened alongside the memorial service and lecture in honour of Tareque Masud, Mishuk Munier and others.
The event was jointly organised by the Moviyana Film Society and Tareque Masud Memorial Trust. Film researcher, writer and teacher Fahmidul Haque is set to deliver the Tareque Masud memorial lecture on the occasion.
On this day in 2011, filmmakers Tareque Masud, Mishuk Munir, and members of their film production crew Wasim, Jamal and microbus driver Mostafizur Rahman were killed in a road collision. The group was returning from scouting a filming location for the movie “Kagojer Phul”.
