“CGI censored” version of Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" released in Indian theatres.

India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has paid careful attention to the film, especially due to the scene where a verse from the Hindu scripture Gita is read. However the censors have caused annoyance in audiences.

Audiences were surprised to see that the scene was cut from the movie. Many complained that the movie was heavily censored. Some even state that the screen darkened during intimate scenes. Besides, others have also claimed CGI censoring in the film.

One person states on the social media site Twitter, The movie is not 'R' rated in India. Rather, it has been given a 'PG-13' rating. There was a nude scene of Florence Pugh in the film, where her body is covered with a towel through CGI."

Another Twitter user said,“ Offensive words have been muted and removed from subtitles. They are really treating the Indian audience as children.”

An “R” rating means that no one under the age of 17 can watch the film without a guardian. On the other hand, any content with a “PG-13” rating will not allow anyone under the age of 13 to watch the movie without a guardian.
