Bangladesh's seasonal diversity is changing due to climate change. There has also been a change in the rainy season. Sometimes we see it rain out of season, sometimes the rains are torrential. But the rainy season is indelible in the hearts of Bengalis.

Every year at the beginning of the Bengali month of Shravan, monsoon is welcomed with songs, dances and recitations. This time "Barsha Mangal" was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's music and dance centre on Friday organized by Sangeet Bhaban.

At the beginning of the program at 6:30 pm, there was a huge turnout in the audience during the recitation about the rainy season, followed by a dance performance. The whole auditorium was filled with the rhythm of the music.

Mahmud Salim, President of Sangeet Bhaban, in his speech said: “Music is the best teacher of man. In fact, people are born like animals, but culture makes people human.”

The music session started with a group performance. The artistes performed a chorus Rabindra Sangeet titled “Neel Anjan Ghan Kunj Chhaya." After that, songs like “Aaj Shravaner Amontrone,” “Badal Meghe Madal Baje,” “Badhu Eman Badole Tumi,” “Esho Go Jele Diye Jao,” “Rimiki Jhimiki Jhare,” “Esho He Sujal Shyamal,” “Chanchal Shyamal Elo Gagane,” “Mone Ki Dwidha” etc. were performed.
