The Appellate bench headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique assigned the new date considering the time request from Nipun's lawyer, Barrister Rokonuddin Mahmud.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has postponed the court hearing of the case between actor Zayed Khan and actress Nipun Akter for the position of General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association (BFAA) till November 20.

The Appellate bench headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique assigned the new date considering the time request from Nipun's lawyer, Barrister Rokonuddin Mahmud.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim and Nahid Sultana represented Zayed Khan in the court, while Barrister Rokonuddin Mahmud requested time on behalf of Nipun Akter.

Earlier on March 13, the Appellate Division ordered both artists to strictly comply with the status quo over holding the post ordered by the Chamber Court.

Before that, Zayed Khan filed a contempt of court on March 8 against Nipun Akter, who attained the General Secretary position despite the status quo order by the High Court.

Bangladesh Film Artistes'Assosiation election was held on January 28 where Zayed was elected as the General Secretary post in a close contest. But the election appellate board disqualified Zayed's candidacy as Nipun accused him of "buying votes."

In spite of being the focus of attention throughout the year, the Nipun-Zayed controversy is yet to resolve till November 20.
