Zayed Khan’s ‘American Dream’ from stage antics to immigrant’s tale

The Thikana-produced tv series explores immigrant experiences and will release on March 6

Zayed Khan, Dhallywood actor and Head of the Entertainment Department at Thikana, will appear in the short film "American Dream", produced in New York and scheduled for release on March 6, 2026.

He moved to the United States nearly 2 years ago and has continued to work with the New York-based Bangla media outlet.

A photograph of Khan appearing to work as a laborer in New York circulated on social media; Thikana confirmed the image is a still from the film.

The short is produced by Thikana under its "Immigrant Diaries" series and is directed by JK. Cinematographer Saad Al Amin handled the film’s photography, with Abir Alamgir and M M Shaheen listed as producers.

The film aims to portray the hardships and determination of Bangladeshi immigrants trying to establish themselves in the United States and highlights the manual jobs many undertake.

In addition to acting, Khan serves as Head of the Entertainment Department at Thikana and hosts a celebrity show for the outlet. He has applied for a green card and has not announced any decision about returning to Bangladesh.

His last Dhallywood appearance was in "Sonar Char", directed by Zahid Hasan.
