The National Geographic Storytellers Summit 2022 is being held on January 26 - 28, in a bid to provide a platform to notable filmmakers, photographers, journalists and illustrators from all around the world.
Bangladeshi photographer Ismail Ferdous has been selected as one of the speakers at the summit. He will participate in the "Featured Program: Pushing Boundaries" segment along with ten other esteemed photographers, journalists and storytellers.
The segment will take place on Thursday, January 27, from 10.30pm to 12am.
As per the National Geographic website, "Based in New York, Ismail Ferdous is a Bangladeshi photographer and videomaker who documents social and humanitarian issues of the contemporary world. A member of Agence VU', he began to consider photography as a profession while studying business at East West University in Dhaka."
"After the collapse of the Rana Plaza garment factory in Dhaka in 2013, one of the worst industrial disasters in Bangladesh's history, which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,100 workers, Ferdous made a plea against the devastating effects of the "fast fashion" industry on the Bangladeshi population with his projects "The Cost of Fashion" and "After Rana Plaza.""
The photographer wrote on Facebook that he is honoured to be one of the speakers at the summit.
