Update : 12 Jul 2021, 07:36 PM

The much-anticipated Bangladeshi streaming platform Chorki will begin its journey today, on July 12. The platform boasts a formidable arsenal of 200+ films, series and documentaries.

Chorki was launched with a view to making local content more accessible and immune to piracy, and giving more autonomy to both filmmakers and audiences.

Around the globe, theaters have borne the brunt of the pandemic. Video streaming platforms have subsequently emerged as a timely antidote to the collapse of the film industries. In a similar vein, Chorki is setting out to shed light on our local stories and curve a place for ourselves in the growing streaming media.

The platform provides a number of affordable subscription options, including one-month subscription for 50 taka. Viewers can visit Chorki’s official website or download the free app from Playstore to check out the platform’s library.

The platform made headlines when it announced that that it would release one original film every month.

Director Adnan Al Rajeev’s web film "Youtumer," starring Pritom Hasan and Ziaul Hoque Polash in lead roles, will be available to stream on the night of Eid-ul-Azha.

Anthology series "Unoloukik," starring Asaduzzaman Noor, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Gazi Rakayet, Iresh Zaker, Rafiath Rashid Mithila and others will premiere on the first day of Eid as well.

Amitabh Reza’s “Munshigiri” and Kamar Ahmed Simon’s “Neel Mukut” will also debut on Chorki.

Apart from original content, Chorki also lets viewers access to the classic Bangla films and TV serials.
