After the release of Sushant Singh Rajput’s final and Sanjana Sanghi debut film Dil bechara, author John Green reached out to Sanjana to applaud her performance and offer his condolences for Sushant’s tragic death.
Sanajna immediately took to Instagram and shared the message with her fans and followers in an emotional note. The newcomer also revealed that Green contacted her three months ago, but she has only noticed the message now.
Released on July 6, Dil Bechara’s trailer broke all previous records and become the ‘most liked’ trailer in 24 hours on YouTube, beating Avengers: Endgame. The film is based on John Green’s New York Times best-selling novel The Fault in our Stars.
Green wrote, “Hey, Sanjana. I saw the Dil Bechara film today and really enjoyed it. I thought your performance was magnificent-- full of humor and heart and deep wells of emotion. Thank you for giving such wonderful life to Kizie, and in doing so, giving new life to Hazel Grace Lancaster.”

“I can only imagine how difficult this whole process has been with the tragic loss of your co-star. I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you for helping bring the film to life. I wish you all the best with what I hope is a very bright future,” he added.
The remake featured Sanjana Sanghi, playing the lead role of Kizie in her first film whereas it marked the last appearance of Sushant on big screen.
Sanjana reacted to the message on Instagram, “ITS JOHN GREEN HIMSELF! I could not resist sharing this moment with you all. And cannot be more annoyed with myself for missing this beautiful message for over 3 months. Thank you for these unfathomable words John. I will simply never be able to articulate what this means to me. It takes away so much heartache and pain.”
