After over two years of the famous Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, which was ruled as a suicide, a claim was made that he had been murdered by an official who witnessed the autopsy.
The official said that Sushant did not commit suicide, but was murdered as his body and neck bore injury marks, reports Indian news outlet Times Now.
The official, Roopkumar Shah, said the day Sushant passed away, they received five bodies at the Cooper Hospital for autopsy.
“Out of those five bodies, one was a VIP body. When we went to perform a post-mortem, we learned he was Sushant and there were several marks on his body and two to three marks on his neck as well,” the official told TV9.
“The postmortem needed to be recorded but higher authorities were asked to only click pictures of the body. Hence, we did that as per their order,” Shah added.
He also told the media that he informed his seniors about why he thought Sushant was murdered, but they were only following orders from the higher-ups.
"When I saw Sushant's body for the first time, I quickly informed my seniors that I feel it is not suicide but a murder. I even told them that we should work as per the rules. However, my seniors told me to click pictures as soon as possible and give the body to the cops. Hence, we performed the postmortem in the night only," Shah said.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14, 2020.
Sushant was suffering from depression for the last six months prior to his death and also undergoing treatment at the Hinduja Hospital.
His suicide sparked debates about nepotism and the closed culture in Bollywood.
