Chittagong has reported another coronavirus death, taking the tally in the southeastern port city to three.
Civil Surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said on Monday that two new Covid-19 patients were identified and one of them died.
The 50-year-old woman, who passed away around noon, was undergoing treatment at the isolation unit of Chittagong General Hospital, he said.
Later in day, her tests, conducted at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases, came back positive for Covid-19, according to the civil surgeon.
Dr Ashim Kumar Nath, superintendent of Chittagong General Hospital, told Dhaka Tribune the woman was suffering from respiratory complications.
As of Monday, Chittagong recorded 16 coronavirus cases.
